MHCS AFTER SCHOOL SPORTS PROGRAM

MHCS is a member of the PAL (Parochial Athletic League)  whose major emphasis is on maintaining a Christian attitude of sportsmanship, honesty, respect, team work, and responsibility.

MHCS Philosophy of Athletics

The most visible evidence of our school to the community is the athletic program where our behavior is our testimony.  Therefore, our desire is to provide an athletic program that is marked by excellence in its qualified Christian coaches, its focus on sportsmanship and Christian character, its reward for effort and hard work, and its commitment to integrity and fair play in the endeavor to be successful.

Christ Centered Athletic Program

Christian Values can be most effectively demonstrated in Athletics.  The playing field is a lab experience for the application of Biblical Principles taught in the church, classroom, and home.  Boys and girls can be salt and light to others through the proper use of their God-given skills and talents in the realm of athletics.

Goals:

  • To  make sure our athletes demonstrate Christian character
  • To provide our athletes with the opportunity to enjoy, develop and compete in athletics, which contributes to good character, physical development, sportsmanship and promotes positive school morale
  • To help the athletes focus on developing character, school pride, unity, and a consistent work ethic

Participation is open to all 5th – 8th grade students.

MHCS athletics provides an opportunity by which all the talents God has given students can be used and developed.
